SATTE 2018 gets massive response from industry

SATTE, South Asia’s leading B2B travel trade show, is all set to organise its 25th edition. The show, to be held from January 31- Feb 02, 2018 at Pragati Maidan, New Delhi, expects to surpass its last visitor numbers of 25,000+ across three days. This year the exhibition will be spread over 20,000 sqm gross, thus making it region’s  biggest travel and tourism event, and expects to feature close to 1,000 exhibitors and the representation of over 50 countries.

UBM India, the organisers of SATTE will also organise the second edition of SATTE Awards. The glittering evening affair will be held at the Le Meridien, Delhi on January 30, 2018. The awards has now become the annual feature to recognise the contribution of key stakeholders in the travel and tourism industry. The major categories for the awards will cover various segments of the travel and tourism industry including; airlines, cruise, tour operators, hotels, destinations, online travel portals, to name a few.

This year SATTE will have an array of State Tourism Boards with many of them increasing their presence at the 25th edition of SATTE. So far, Himachal Pradesh and Rajasthan have confirmed their participation. Moreover, the eight North Eastern states will also participate under the Incredible India Pavilion of the Ministry of Tourism, Govt. of India. States such as Madhya Pradesh, Andhra Pradesh, Goa, Odisha, Chhattisgarh, Telangana, Punjab, Karnataka, Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Dadra and Nagar Haveli, Bihar and Jharkhand amongst others are in the process of finalising their participation for SATTE 2018.

Foreign Tourism Boards such as Peru, Czech Republic, Florida, Singapore, Hong Kong, Japan, Korea, Nepal, Bangladesh and Abu Dhabi, amongst others have confirmed their participation too. Egypt, Sharjah, Dubai, Sri Lanka, Malaysia, Fiji, Seychelles, Mexico, Spain, Italy, New Zealand, Turkey, Macau, Bhutan, Indonesia, Thailand, Israel, Vietnam and Mauritius are all set to confirm their participation soon.

SATTE 2018 is also witnessing an increase in participation from hospitality players. Groups such as Sterling Resorts, Minor Hotels, Melia Hotels International, Shangri -La Hotels and Resorts, Venetian Cotai and many more are participating at SATTE 2018. Few more hotel chains are expected to join the mega event.

One of the key features of SATTE 2018 will be the conference programme on January 31 to February 02 that promises industry discussions and sharing of new insights pertaining to the sector and industry best practices. Moreover, SATTE will host six panel discussions that will bring together stakeholders of the industry on a single platform, allowing exchange of ideas that will add value to Indian tourism at large.

SATTE also continues to receive the support of international organisations and Indian travel trade associations such as World Tourism Organisation (UNWTO), Pacific Asia Travel Association (PATA), Cruise Lines International Association (CLIA), , SKAL International, United Federation of Travel Agents Associations (UFTAA), Indian Association of Tour Operators (IATO), Travel Agents Association of India (TAAI), Federation of Hotel and Restaurant Associations of India (FHRAI), Travel Agents Federation of India (TAFI), Association of Domestic Tour Operators of India (ADTOI) and IATA Agents Association of India (IAAI), to name a few.

Media houses from across the globe have shown a keen interest in SATTE. Owing to its popularity in the international market, SATTE has entered into media alliances with TTG Asia, Hospitality India, Safari Plus, Travel & Tour World, Selling World Travel, TravelBiz Monitor, Travel Trade Journal (TTJ), MIG Group, Travel Span and TravelScapes.
