Lotus Destinations Pvt Ltd, a new destination management company has set up a its office and begun operations in the commercial capital city of Kerala, Kochi. Branded as Lotus DMC, their tours divisions’ main verticals will be Inbound, Outbound and Domestic Tours. The Company is headed by Sanjeev Kumar as Managing Director, a veteran with over 18 year of experience in the travel trade. Kumar has worked in locations such as Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai and Cochin and has headed south India operations for TCI (Travel Corporation India) and TBi. “Because of our expertise in Cruise handling, the company is setting up an exclusive cruise division which will cater to cruise handling at all Indian Ports. Apart from regular markets, Lotus DMC with its strong foothold in Warsaw, intends to promote India and Sri Lanka extensively in the Eastern European belt and Russian market. A series of promotional activities are being planned for this,” he said. He is ably assisted by Deepu C.S, Director, Lotus Destinations, who brings 17 years experience in inbound operations. Lotus Destinations Pvt Ltd is also partnered by M/s. Citystar S.C, a 28 year old multi- million dollar company head quartered at Warsaw, with branches across Europe, Russia and also by M/s. Jai Narayana Shipping Company established in 1946, with a turnover of 58 Crores. Kumar adds, “Lotus DMC is now fully functional at Kochi and we are in the process of setting own branches in Chennai, Delhi, Mumbai, Goa, Jaipur and Colombo. We also intend to diversify into Hotels & Resorts under Lotus Hospitality with a few properties already been acquired by the company in Kerala.”
