Taj Palace, New Delhi, the capital’s landmark hotel is all set to host the second edition of 115 Years Charity Gala on August 9, 2019 to commemorate the momentous anniversary of India’s first luxury hospitality address, The Taj Mahal Palace, Mumbai, the iconic flagship of The Indian Hotels Company Limited (IHCL).
Build in 1903, The Taj Mahal Palace, Mumbai was a result of Sir Jamsetji N. Tata’s dream to usher in a new era in Indian hospitality and ensure that the city of Bombay has an icon which could place it amongst the greatest cities of the world. Following up to the glittering first edition of the Charity Ball that took place at the iconic hotel on its 115th anniversary, the second edition of the Charity Gala, also in support of the Taj Public Service Welfare Trust (TPSWT) will carry forward the spirit of philanthropy – the cornerstone of the revered 150 year TATA legacy.
Founded by the TATA Group and IHCL in the aftermath of the unprecedented terror attacks on Mumbai in November 2008, the objective of the Trust is to extend assistance to victims of terror, natural disasters, members of the armed forces and other services who demonstrate bravery in their line of work, and their families. Inspired by the resilience of survivors and the courage of those who came to our aid, the Trust’s purpose is to reach out to people affected by adversities, both man-made and natural to rebuild their lives. Over the past decade, the Trust has worked on a range of relief and rehabilitation initiatives across the country.
A fine confluence of art, world-class entertainment and gourmet cuisine, with the who’s who of the capital in attendance, will make this an extraordinary evening with a noble cause. A high- decibel live auction of a selection of noteworthy art pieces donated by a leading visual arts gallery shall be the highlight of this soirée, the proceeds of which will be donated to the Trust. The commemorative experiential sit-down dinner at the grand Durbar hall will feature exquisite cuisine paired with high-octane live entertainment. Celebration tables at the hotel’s four award- winning restaurants – Orient Express, Spicy Duck, Masala Art and Capital Kitchen, are available for sponsorships.
Samrat Datta, General Manager, Taj Palace, New Delhi said, “For over a hundred years, the Taj dome has anchored the skyline of Mumbai and continues to stand tall as an epitome of timeless luxury.
