Thai Airways International (THAI) announced its completion of 15 years of service in Bengaluru, having started operations in the year March 2004. Over the last 15 years, THAI has served 1.1 million passengers from Bengaluru to over 60 destinations across the world through its network.
THAI held an exclusive event on Friday evening to celebrate 15 years that was attended by travel agents, the corporate sector, airport representatives, frequent flyers and other dignitaries from the travel ecosystem and was graced by the Ambassador of Thailand to India, Chutintorn Gongsakdi.
Speaking at the inauguration of the event, Gongsakdi expressed that “it is a distinct honour and pleasure to participate in Vibrancy of the Garden City to celebrate THAI Airways’ 15th Anniversary of flight operations to Bengaluru. Indian friends and acquaintances do tell me that THAI Airways is a preferred choice carrier for flying to Thailand. This is flattering indeed, for Thais are essentially humble people, but nevertheless, we are a nation with a strong sense of pride in memorable service from the heart”.
He also thanked the Government of India for facilitating increased air connectivity between Thailand and India by providing more air traffic rights. Thailand looks forward to seeing even more air connectivity between Thailand and India to welcome 2 million Indian tourists this year, leading to 10 million by 2030. Indian Tourists currently enjoy free Thai Visa on Arrival until 31 October 2019.
In his address Thamanoon Kuprasert, General Manager -India, Thai Airways International said, “THAI is focused on both domestic and international markets while our priority is on high quality standards, safety, convenience and service that reflect the Thai hospitality. We take pride to have served over 1.1 million passengers in the past 15 years of service and we thank you all for making this route successful. Personally, for me; it’s a proud achievement since Bengaluru was my first overseas assignment 10 years ago”.
