Jet connects Visakhapatnam to New Delhi and Mumbai

Jet Airways yesterday introduced a daily, non-stop flight connecting Visakhapatnam to New Delhi, effective 01st September, 2018. In keeping with rising demand, the airline also introduced a second daily frequency between the port city and the nation’s commercial capital, Mumbai.

To further enhance connectivity from Visakhapatnam, Jet Airways has also introduced a second frequency from Mumbai.

Jet Airways is focusing on catering to the demand from emerging cities and has introduced multiple connectivity options for the benefit of Small and Medium Enterprises, Corporate travelers and guests visiting friends and relatives. The additional services will promote travel and stimulate business and economic activity in the region. Visakhapatnam is the commercial hub of Andhra Pradesh and one of the 100 fastest growing cities in the world with a GDP of USD 43.5  billion. The port has a significant capacity to handle over 66,000,000 tons of cargo with a fishing harbour that is one of the oldest and largest in the state.

Raj Sivakumar, Sr. Vice-President, Worldwide Sales & Distribution, Jet Airways said, “Air traffic from Visakhapatnam has grown by a CAGR of more than one third in the last three years. The growth in the city’s IT sector in the recent times is boosting the local economy. Our schedule has been meticulously planned to meet the expected surge in demand over the coming months. New flights, additional frequencies, greater capacity across more sectors are meant to offer our discerning guests additional choice, convenience, connectivity and superior comfort. This will also benefit the ports and infrastructure industry, as well as corporate travellers who will be able to enjoy day-return flights. I am sure our new flights will reinforce Jet Airways as the preferred airline and will boost connectivity, trade and development in each of these cities.”
