Approximately 50 international routes operated by IndiGo will now require longer flight paths, resulting in minor schedule changes.

In light of the recent closure of Pakistan’s airspace for Indian carriers following the tragic incident in Pahalgam, IndiGo announced the operational adjustments across select international routes.

Due to the restricted airspace and limited rerouting options, approximately 50 international routes operated by IndiGo will now require longer flight paths, resulting in minor schedule changes. Passengers are advised to check the latest updates on our website for revised timings.

Further, given the current fleet limitations and extended flight durations, services to Almaty and Tashkent fall beyond the operational range of their aircraft. As a result:

-Flights to Almaty stand cancelled from April 27 to May 7, 2025, and

-Flights to Tashkent from April 28 to May 7, 2025.

“We deeply regret the inconvenience caused to our valued passengers and assure them that we are exploring all options to minimise disruption. We request their understanding and cooperation as these developments are beyond our control,” the airline’s spokesperson said.

It also conveyed that the passengers can manage rescheduling and cancellations through the website.

Besides IndiGo, Air India will be rerouting several international services, as per the sources. This impact of the closure became evident late Thursday, with the Indian airlines beginning to divert flights to destinations such as New York, Azerbaijan, and Dubai — routes that traditionally traverse Pakistani airspace.
