The recently concluded Arabian Travel Mart (ATM) Dubai witnessed great response from the global travel and tourism industry. The Mart gave a new dimension to Dubai’s tourism industry under the changed scenario post pandemic.
Touring the Mart, Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, said the UAE is committed to accelerating the development and expansion of the country’s vital sectors. As part of its ambitious development vision, the UAE has made remarkable leaps in the tourism and aviation sectors over the past 50 years, which have enabled the country to transform itself into one of the world’s leading nations in these major industries, the Vice President and Prime Minister said adding that we are constantly working with our partners to enhance the growth of the tourism and travel sectors at local, regional and international levels.
“The UAE plays a unique role on the global stage as a country that bridges the markets of the east and the west. Our unique strengths place us in a good position to play an influential role in in opening new horizons of growth for these sectors globally and create fresh opportunities for the worldwide economy. Dubai welcomed 3.97 million international overnight visitors between January and March 2022, up from 1.27 million visitors for the corresponding period last year, reflecting a massive 214 per cent YoY growth.

The show was officially inaugurated by Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, President of the Dubai Civil Aviation Authority, CEO and Founder of the Emirates Group and Chairman of Dubai World. Saeed was accompanied by Helal Saeed Almarri, Director-General of Dubai’s Department of Economy and Tourism (DET) and a host of other VIPs who embarked on a tour of the show floor.
