HYATT REGENCY GURGAON TO FOCUS ON MICE

Hyatt Regency is set to increase its focus on the MICE market and continue to consolidate its position as a leading MICE hotel both, Federico Mantoani, General Manager, Hyatt Regency Gurgaon revealed. The MICE segment contributes to over 60 per cent of the property’s revenues and plays a major role in the hotel’s overall business.

“We will promote our singular event facilities to become a preferred partner for PCOs and EMCs and to be recognised as an undisputed service provider for large scale conferences, exhibitions, weddings, social functions and product launches. The hotel’s key strategy will be to offer flexible packages and value based offers for transient and group business, with a focus on volume,” he added.

The hotel, which launched with an inventory of approximately 150 rooms in May last year, has since scaled up to 451 rooms, and has two Food & Beverage outlets functional today, with an all-day dining and bar set to launch in the coming month. Speaking about the response to the property, Mantoani said, “Like every new venture, the hotel is slowly but steadily making its mark in the MICE segment and catering to large residential conferences to clients from across the country. We have also engaged several corporate clients based in Gurgaon and Manesar for their regular travel and event requirements.”

Commenting on the spurt of hotels in the Delhi-NCR region, he stated that it has resulted in an increase in supply, but industry reports show that all hotels in the five star segment are holding on to their occupancies with a marginal correction on rates. “This clearly establishes the demand in the market, which is a very encouraging sign,” he opined.

Speaking about the property’s B2B initiatives, the General Manager opined that travel agents, both offline and online, are significant contributors to the success of any hotel. “Since our hotel is predominantly a business hotel, our current contribution from the leisure inbound segment is minimal. We have, however, engaged industry partners to promote our packages successfully to the domestic traveller,” he said.

Currently the hotel receives approximately 53 per cent domestic guests and 47 per cent foreign travellers. The international source markets include USA and UK which are traditionally strong for Delhi NCR as a whole. “There is clearly a first move advantage being the only five star hotel in the area. The hotel has a lot to offer its guests and with the high standards of service associated with the Hyatt brand, we aim to remain the preferred choice of hotel for clients in our catchment area in the future as well,” Mantoani concluded.
